However if you don’t like it and if you’d like to get the old Windows Vista style quick launch bar, taskbar and taskbar buttons back, here is what you need to do:
Get classic quick launch bar back
Right click the taskbar > Toolbars > Click New Toolbar.
In the space Folder, where the cursor is blinking, copy-paste
%userprofile%AppDataRoamingMicrosoftInternet ExplorerQuick Launch
into this Folder field.
Unlock taskbar.
Right-click and customize. ie. View > Disable Show Text / Show Title / Select Large icons.
Now drag the quick launch bar to the rt of the Pinned items bar or vice versa.
Restore classic taskbar buttons
If you do not like Windows 7 style of taskbar and taskbar buttons, you can easily customize it too, to make it look like the Vista taskbar.
To do so:
Right click on the taskbar > Properties > Check Small Icons > Also under Taskbar Buttons setting > Select Combine when taskbar is full > Apply > OK.
Alternatively, you can also open regedit and navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
In the RHS pane right-click on TaskbarGlomLevel and Edit ist DWORD (32-bit) its value to ‘1‘.
This will make your Windows 7 taskbar emulate Windows Vista taskbar, by and large.
